Our Approach to Sustainability
Safari tourism depends entirely on healthy ecosystems and thriving communities. Pride of Africa Adventures & Safaris Limited works to ensure the way we operate today helps protect the destinations we love for the travelers of tomorrow. This policy sets out our sustainability commitments; see also our Responsible Tourism Policy for how this applies on the ground during your trip.
1. Conservation Partnerships
We route itineraries through parks, conservancies, and community wildlife areas that reinvest visitor fees into anti-poaching patrols, habitat management, and species monitoring, and we favor camps that actively contribute to conservation in the areas where they operate.
2. Reducing Our Environmental Footprint
- We plan efficient routings to reduce unnecessary driving distances between destinations.
- We maintain our vehicle fleet to reduce emissions and fuel consumption.
- Our office minimizes paper use, favoring digital itineraries, e-vouchers, and invoices over printed documents.
- We recommend and prioritize accommodation partners with solar power, water-recycling, and waste-reduction programs.
3. Community & Economic Sustainability
We create local employment, source local guides and drivers, and route itineraries through community conservancies and cultural experiences that channel tourism income directly to the people who steward these landscapes.
4. Wildlife & Habitat Protection
We enforce strict compliance with park regulations on vehicle numbers, viewing distances, and off-road driving, and we do not offer or support any activity involving the touching, feeding, riding, or captive display of wild animals for entertainment.
5. Working Toward Continuous Improvement
Sustainability is an ongoing commitment, not a fixed destination. We regularly review our supplier network, office practices, and itinerary design to find further ways to reduce our impact and increase the benefit our trips bring to conservation and local communities.
6. Contact Us
We welcome questions about our sustainability practices from guests, partners, and researchers alike.
