Climb Tanzania’s active volcano, the “Mountain of God” of the Maasai, through the night to watch sunrise from the summit at about 2,960 m. The climb is short but steep and tough, on loose ash and rock. The day before, you drive down the Rift Valley to remote Lake Natron and walk to the Engare Sero waterfall or the flamingo shore.
A short, good-value taste of northern Tanzania. Spend the first afternoon among the elephant herds and giant baobabs of Tarangire National Park, sleep in the cool highlands near Karatu, then descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full morning of game viewing before heading back to Arusha. You share the vehicle and guide with other travellers on the same dates.
The same two great parks as our joining safari, but with your own vehicle and guide. Start when you like, linger at a sighting as long as you want and choose your own lodge standard. A good short safari before or after Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar.
The easiest way to add a real safari to a Zanzibar holiday. A short light-aircraft flight takes you to Mikumi National Park on the edge of southern Tanzania’s wilderness, where the open Mkata floodplain is home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffalo and lions. One night in the park, two game drives, and you are back on the beach the next afternoon.
A short, private trip built around light. Fly in to the Lake Manyara airstrip, photograph the Ngorongoro highlands in the golden evening light, then be at the crater gate as it opens for a full morning on the crater floor before flying out. Your guide positions the vehicle for the light and gives you all the time you need at each sighting.
Wildlife and culture in three days. Fly in to the Ngorongoro highlands for a crater game drive, then drive to Moshi at the foot of Kilimanjaro. On the last morning walk through the Chagga village of Materuni to its waterfall and learn how local families grow, roast and brew their coffee, before your flight home from Kilimanjaro Airport.
The two most famous names in Tanzania in three days. Cross the Ngorongoro highlands to the open plains of the Serengeti for an afternoon and a morning of game drives, then finish with a descent into Ngorongoro Crater. Ideal if you want the classic northern-circuit highlights on a shared-vehicle budget.
Skip the long drive in: fly straight into the heart of the Serengeti, game drive on the plains, then cross the conservation area by road to Ngorongoro Crater and fly out from the Lake Manyara airstrip. More time with the animals, less time on the road.
Three parks with three very different characters: the elephant country of Tarangire, the forest and soda lake of Lake Manyara, and the wildlife-packed floor of Ngorongoro Crater — the best place in northern Tanzania to look for all of the Big Five. Sightings are never guaranteed, but this route gives you excellent chances.
A short, romantic escape to the Serengeti for two. Fly straight into the park, stay in a luxury tented camp, and spend your days on private game drives with sundowners on the plains. A hot-air balloon flight at sunrise and a private bush dinner can be added to make it unforgettable.
The most affordable way to spend nights inside the Serengeti and on the Ngorongoro crater rim. You sleep in dome tents at public campsites, your cook prepares meals at camp, and you spend the days on game drives with your own guide.
Sleep under canvas inside the parks without giving up a good night’s rest. Comfort camping uses larger walk-in tents with beds and proper bedding, with a cook preparing fresh meals at camp. Two nights in the Serengeti and one on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater.
Two full days in the Serengeti and a morning in Ngorongoro Crater, flying in and out from Zanzibar so there are no long drives at the start or end. A private safari that pairs perfectly with a beach stay.
Four days on the classic northern circuit: Tarangire’s elephants, a full night in the Serengeti with two game drives, and a morning in Ngorongoro Crater. A balanced first safari that keeps driving days manageable.
From the beach to the Serengeti in a morning. Fly from Zanzibar into the Serengeti, drive back east through Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire with your private guide, and fly back to Zanzibar on the last afternoon — three of the north’s great parks in four days.
Five unhurried days for two: fly into the Serengeti, stay in a luxury tented camp, then move to a lodge on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater with sweeping views. Private game drives throughout, time to relax, and romantic extras arranged on request.
A family-paced safari through four parks, with a shorter park day at Lake Manyara between the longer drives. Children love the elephants of Tarangire, the baboons of Manyara and the big open plains of the Serengeti. Run as a joining safari; a private vehicle for your family is available on request.
Two full nights in the Serengeti give you time to explore beyond the main roads, with Tarangire at the start and Ngorongoro Crater at the end. A lodge-based joining safari for travellers who want more time on the plains.
Between late December and March the wildebeest herds gather on the short-grass plains around Lake Ndutu, on the border of the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, to give birth. Hundreds of thousands of calves are born within a few weeks — and lions, cheetahs and hyenas follow. This private safari spends two nights in the middle of it.
Fly from Zanzibar straight to wherever the Great Migration is that month and spend four nights with the herds. We choose the airstrip and camp for your travel dates: the northern Serengeti for river crossings in the dry season, the southern plains for calving, or the central and western areas in between.
All four northern parks at a comfortable pace: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, two nights in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, staying in mid-range lodges throughout. A joining safari with time to enjoy each park.
A private road safari timed around the Great Migration, with three nights in the Serengeti at a camp chosen for the herds’ position on your dates. Lake Manyara at the start and Ngorongoro Crater at the end round off a complete northern circuit.
Most Tanzanian parks close at dusk, so the bush at night is something few visitors see. This private safari adds a guided night game drive in an area where night drives are permitted, looking for the animals that come out after dark, as well as day game drives in Tarangire, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
The most complete of our joining safaris: a night inside Tarangire’s wider ecosystem, Lake Manyara, three nights in the Serengeti and a final morning in Ngorongoro Crater. Plenty of time for the Serengeti means your guide can follow the season’s best wildlife.
Our complete northern-circuit safari with your own vehicle and guide. A night in Tarangire, a day at Lake Manyara, three nights in the Serengeti and a final morning in Ngorongoro Crater — at your pace, with your choice of lodges.
Spend an unforgettable hour with a family of mountain gorillas in the rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way you explore Queen Elizabeth National Park — game drives on the savannah, a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel among hippos, buffalo and elephants, and the Ishasha sector, known for its tree-climbing lions. A private safari with your own vehicle and guide from Entebbe.

Our Kenya safaris start in Nairobi. Our team meets you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and the safari sets off from Nairobi in your own safari vehicle.
Our itineraries run from 3 to 14 days. Four days covers the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru (4-Day Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru Safari); seven to nine days adds Lake Naivasha and Amboseli (7-Day Best of Kenya Private Safari); ten days or more leaves time for the beach, Tanzania or Ethiopia.
The herds are usually in the Masai Mara from about July to October, and river crossings are most often seen from late July into September. Timing shifts every year with the rains, so we plan around the latest reports. The Mara has excellent resident wildlife all year round.
