Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire – Karatu
Pick-up from your Arusha hotel and drive to Tarangire National Park. Look for elephant families, giraffes and the park’s huge baobab trees, with a picnic lunch at a viewpoint. Continue to the Karatu area.

Day 2: Lake Manyara – Karatu
A gentler day in Lake Manyara National Park, only a short drive away. The forest at the park entrance is full of baboons and monkeys, and the lake shore attracts hippos and water birds. Back at the lodge in good time for a swim or a rest where the lodge has a pool.

What is a joining (group) safari?
You share the safari vehicle and guide with other travellers on the same itinerary, which keeps the cost down. Everyone has a window seat and access to the pop-up roof. If you would rather travel only with your own party, ask us for the private version.
Is this safari suitable for young children?
Yes. Days are planned with rest time and shorter drives where possible. Some lodges set minimum ages or offer family rooms — tell us your children’s ages and we will choose suitable lodges in your quotation.
How do I book?
