Cancellation Policy for Pride of Africa Adventures & Safaris Limited
We understand that plans can change. This policy explains the cancellation charges that apply when a confirmed booking is cancelled, and forms part of our Terms & Conditions.
1. How to Cancel
Cancellations must be made in writing (by email or WhatsApp text, so we have a clear record) by the Lead Traveler who made the booking. The cancellation date used to calculate charges is the date we receive your written notice, not the date you first mention it verbally.
2. Cancellation Charges
Because we pay lodges, camps, and park authorities in advance to secure your reservation, cancellation charges apply on the following sliding scale, calculated as a percentage of the total trip cost:
- More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit only.
- 45–60 days before departure: 50% of total trip cost.
- 30–44 days before departure: 75% of total trip cost.
- Less than 30 days before departure, or no-show: 100% of total trip cost.
Certain peak-season camps, mobile tented camps, and scheduled flights may carry stricter, non-refundable terms set by the supplier; where this applies to your itinerary, we will state it clearly on your quotation before you book.
3. Partial Cancellations
If one traveler cancels from a group or multi-room booking, the charges above apply to that traveler’s share of the cost. We will also let you know if the reduced group size changes the per-person rate for the travelers still going (for example, where a group discount or shared-vehicle rate no longer applies).
4. Cancellations by Us
If we need to cancel your trip for reasons within our control, you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid. See Section 8 and Section 11 (Force Majeure) of our Terms & Conditions for cancellations or changes caused by circumstances beyond our control.
5. Recommended: Travel Insurance
Cancellation charges of this kind are standard across the safari industry because of how far in advance camps and parks must be paid. A comprehensive travel insurance policy with trip-cancellation cover is the best way to protect yourself financially against an unexpected need to cancel — see our Travel Insurance Information page.
6. Refund Processing
Where a refund is due under this policy, we process it to your original payment method within 14 business days of confirming the final amount with our suppliers. See our Refund Policy for full details.
7. Contact Us
If your plans have changed, talk to us before you cancel — we may be able to reschedule your trip instead.
